How to be Confident in Interviews

“If you hear a voice within you say you cannot paint, then by all means paint and that voice will be silenced.” ― Vincent Willem van Gogh

Being confident is an important personal trait. It can help you advance your status in life and in your career because people tend to see you differently if you don’t have the confidence to let your voice be heard or stand by what you’re worth. How can you showcase your confidence at job interviews?

First and foremost, stay true to your value. If you can bring in the background, and the experience, there is no reason why you can’t be confident in your standing and in yourself. What if you’re just out of school and don’t have experience? Be confident in your education, extra-curricular activity, and young age. Being a young self-starter can be as valuable as being an experienced professional. Many employers are on the lookout for either type of employee, so don’t let lack of experience undermine your confidence.

It might seem ephemeral, but if you pamper yourself up a bit, you can improve your confidence and state of mind. Dress well. Get a haircut. Wear your favorite tie or other accessory. Listen to a song that makes you feel energetic before your interview. All the little things can help you stay grounded and feel more positive and confident about the whole experience.
